Magnetic flow meters, also known as MAG flow meters, are volumetric flow meters designed to measure conductive liquids — not gases. With no moving parts, they are a strong choice for potable water, wastewater, and other conductive, water-based fluids, whether clean or dirty.

MAG flow meters are especially effective in slurry and cement applications because they provide an obstruction-free flow path while accurately measuring conductive fluids, even when high solids content or abrasive materials are present.

These meters are generally not suitable for hydrocarbons, distilled water, or many non-aqueous solutions because the liquid must have a minimum conductivity of 5 microSiemens/cm.

MAG flow meters offer excellent 0.5% accuracy and a 40:1 turndown ratio for pipe sizes ranging from 1/2" to 96". They can be used with a wide range of electrically conductive liquids, including potable water, well water, wastewater, effluent, sewage, sludge, cement, oil well injection water, beer, wine, liquor, fruit juice, dairy, irrigation water, chemical reagents, and other conductive liquid applications.
